1. Who is responsible for your data
BalaganBot is operated by Mikhail Firulik, who acts as the owner and data controller for the service. Questions, privacy requests, and complaints can be sent to firulik@gmail.com.
2. Information we process
Depending on how you use BalaganBot, we may process:
- your platform-specific user, chat, page, or message identifiers;
- messages and commands you send, including recent conversation context;
- images, voice notes, audio, links, and documents you choose to submit;
- language, AI-provider, location, and other preferences you explicitly set;
- technical and operational information such as timestamps, delivery status, errors, rate-limit state, and feature usage;
- website analytics, including page views, button clicks, browser/device information, and approximate network information.
Please do not send passwords, one-time codes, full payment-card details, government identification numbers, or other secrets that are not needed for your request.
3. How we use information
We process information to:
- receive your request and send the requested answer through the originating messenger;
- translate, summarize, transcribe, explain, search, or generate content you request;
- remember limited context and preferences so follow-up conversations work;
- protect the service from abuse, duplicate events, and excessive automated requests;
- operate, troubleshoot, secure, and improve BalaganBot;
- measure aggregate product usage without copying raw conversation content into analytics;
- comply with applicable law and valid legal requests.
4. AI and other service providers
BalaganBot relies on service providers to deliver its features. Information needed for a request may be transmitted to the messaging platform you use, AI providers such as OpenAI or Anthropic, and—when you request or confirm a current web search—Perplexity. Hosting, database, security, and analytics providers may process limited information on our behalf. Public links or public Israeli data sources may also be accessed to answer a request.
These providers process information under their own terms and privacy commitments. We disclose only the information reasonably needed for the relevant function and do not sell personal information.
5. Storage and retention
BalaganBot keeps bounded operational state rather than a permanent copy of every conversation. Typical retention periods include:
- up to 30 days for the latest relevant messages and reply references;
- up to 60 days for a compact conversation summary;
- between 10 minutes and 24 hours for pending searches and other unfinished flows;
- up to 7 days for message-delivery deduplication records;
- up to 180 days for bounded donation/share prompt counters;
- up to 365 days for language and similar preferences;
- an explicitly saved location until you clear it or request deletion.
Product analytics may retain account identifiers and event records for as long as reasonably needed to understand and operate the service, but raw conversation text is not intentionally copied into the analytics database. Some identifiers are pseudonymized. Provider logs, backups, and legal records may follow separate limited retention schedules.
6. Website analytics
The BalaganBot website uses PostHog to understand page visits and button usage. Session recording is disabled, visible text and element attributes are masked, and browser “Do Not Track” preferences are respected. Analytics state may be stored in your browser's local storage. You can restrict this through your browser settings.
7. Legal grounds
Where applicable, we process data to provide the service you request, based on our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the service, with your consent for optional features, and when necessary to comply with legal obligations.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may ask to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete your personal information, or object to certain processing. You may also stop using the bot, delete your conversation in the messenger, clear saved location data, or change browser storage settings.

9. Security and international processing
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including access controls, limited retention, signed webhook verification, and pseudonymization where practical. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Because service providers operate internationally, data may be processed outside your country with the protections required by applicable law.
10. Children
BalaganBot is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted information should contact us for deletion.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the service or legal requirements change. The current version and its effective date will always be published on this page.
